Betcha didn’t see that one coming. But the Sisters of
St. Benedict of Ferdinand, Indiana, are some savvy sisters with big ambitions – raise awareness about their community and their work, welcome new members to their community in greater numbers, and increase their base of donor support.
The sisters asked Mindpower to help them gain traction with a younger demographic through a new, more modern and strategic approach, and a fresh look. We were intrigued, of course, and couldn’t wait to see where this partnership would lead (an "in" at the pearly gates?).
We packed up and headed to the monastery to meet the sisters and learn everything we could about life in their community (short of joining it). We were thrilled to find a spirited group of women excited to work with us, and touched to find that they prayed for us.
The sisters had long relied on photos of the beautiful architecture of their home for their materials. Their identity was entwined particularly with the dome atop their church (they even call the monastery "the dome"). We wanted people to see – and get to know – the sisters themselves.

The sisters embraced their brand and Smartbook®, the strategy and concept bible that articulates our best thinking about their brand. And they've really run with it. They are busy applying their new look and messaging and even renamed their magazine Seek. Pray. Share. to reflect it.
